Description
No. 69 High Street is a house that likely dates back to the early 15th century. It features a stone uncoursed rubble plinth on both the left and right sides, with small timber-framing to the left that has brick infill, and small timber-framing to the right with rendered infill. The center section is made of brick, and the building has a thatched roof that is half-hipped on the left side, with a brick ridge stack located to the left of the center. The house has an L-shaped plan, with a cross-wing at the left rear.
It is a single storey with an attic and has a four-bay front range. There is a 20th-century four-panel part-glazed door to the left of the center, and a 20-pane unhorned sash window in the center. To the left, there are three 20th-century two-light casements, and to the right, there is a 6-pane window. There are also two swept dormers: one with a 2-light casement to the left of the center and another with a 3-light casement in the center. The left return features a cruck truss, while the right return is weatherboarded. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to be of cruck construction.
