Description
The Catherine Wheel is a public house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is likely a re-fronting of an earlier building. The exterior is characterized by brickwork in Flemish bond with stone flat arches, and an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building follows a three-unit outshut plan and has a five-window front with two entrances. The left doorway is flanked by tripartite sash windows. The first floor has irregularly spaced nine-pane sashes. The right doorway, in line with a stack, has sash windows to both floors, with a blind window above. Modern shutters and doors are present. Gable walls are rendered.
