Description
The Old House is a house dating from the early 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. It is constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, with some areas of render. The roof is covered with old plain tiles and features a ridge stack on a stone base. The house follows a 2-unit baffle-entry plan. It has two storeys plus attics, with a symmetrical two-window front. A narrow 6-panel door is positioned to the right of centre, flanked by 16-pane sashes on both the ground and first floors. A 20-pane sash window is located to the left of the door. All the sashes have been renewed. A cellar opening is visible and is topped with a brick segmental arch. The eaves have been raised, creating a shallower roof pitch, and the upper part of the front wall has been rendered. Dormers and casements are present at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
