Description
Basimore Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century, constructed of limestone rubble with dressed quoins and timber lintels. It features a plain-tile roof with a 20th-century ridge stack and has a three-unit plan across two storeys. The exterior has been significantly altered, with the front displaying two doors and irregularly placed casements of one, two, and three lights, likely from the 18th or 19th century. There are also 20th-century dormers and an extension on the right. Inside, the cottage has chamfered and stopped beams and joists, along with two large stone fireplaces that have moulded surrounds and four-centre arches with recessed spandrels. The roof structure includes a single row of clasped purlins.
