Description
Sandford House is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with concrete lintels and features a plain-tile roof with ashlar gable stacks. The house has a two-unit central stair plan and consists of one storey plus attics. The front has three windows and a central doorway, which is situated below a tall hipped dormer window that has a moulded wooden eaves-cove. This is flanked by large gables. The flanking windows are 20th-century four-light transomed casements, with a similar three-light window above. The right gable wall is made of ashlar and includes a projecting stack. Inside, there are intersecting chamfered beams, some of which have moulded stops, and a large open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
