Description
Stribblehills is a house that likely dates back to the early 17th century but was refronted in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The exterior features lined render, which is probably over timber framing, and an old plain-tile roof. There is a 17th-century brick ridge stack located to the right of the center, along with 19th-century stacks at the rear.
The house is two stories tall and has a three-window range. To the left of the center, there is a late 19th-century gabled porch with a 20th-century sash door. The central window is a 16-pane unhorned sash with a cornice supported by scroll brackets. On both the ground and first floors, there are tripartite unhorned sashes with glazing bars, each featuring cornices on scroll brackets. The first floor also has a 16-pane unhorned sash in the center, again with a cornice on scroll brackets.
The cross-gables on the left and right sides have late 19th-century bargeboards. The left side of the house shows uncoursed stone rubble on the ground floor, while the first floor has bands of fish-scale and plain-tile hanging. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. There are late 19th-century additions at the rear.
