Description

Spirit is a tithe barn, now used as offices and a warehouse. It likely dates from the late 16th century and has undergone later alterations. The building features a mixture of stone and brick at the plinth, with herringbone brickwork and some 20th-century renewal on the lower half of the wall. The upper structure consists of large timber framing with arched bracing and brick infill in various bonds, including herringbone. The roof is a half-hipped design covered with plain tiles from the 20th century. The barn has seven bays and includes double plank doors at the rear center, with irregularly placed leaded casement windows. Inside, there is a double-queen-post roof construction with some windbraces.
