Description

This is a house, likely dating from the late 15th and 16th centuries, with significant alterations in the 18th century. It's built with painted stone rubble and painted brick, and has a thatched roof with a 20th-century plain-tile valley on the right side. There's a brick end stack on the left and a ridge stack on the right. The house is a single storey with an attic, and originally had a two-window front, with a cross-wing to the right. A 20th-century painted brick lean-to porch sits at the centre, with a plank door on the left return. The front has a three-light wooden casement with a segmental brick head on the left, and a two-light wooden casement with a segmental brick head on the right. Two two-light casements are visible on the left return of the cross-wing. There are two swept dormers in the roof. The cross-wing's half-hipped gable features a queen post roof truss and a two-light wooden casement. The interior is of cruck construction, with significant smoke-blackening on the rafters.
