Description
Two townhouses, likely dating from the mid-18th century, stand on the south-west side of High Street, Thame. They are constructed with a rendered plinth and red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, notable for the flared brick headers. The roofs are slate, and a brick end stack is located on the left. The buildings are three storeys high, with a basement, and feature a five-window facade. A six-panel, part-glazed door is situated on the left, accessed by stone steps with wrought-iron railings. The doorway has a recessed surround with a rubbed-brick round-arched head, a keystone, and a rendered tympanum. A similar six-panel door is located to the right of centre, also with stone steps and wrought-iron railings, and a matching arched surround. Basement windows are two-light casements with segmental brick heads and wrought-iron railings. The ground and first floors have 16-pane unhorned sash windows with brick flat arches, while the second-floor windows are two-light casements with glazing bars. The interiors remain uninspected.
