Description
No 25 Northfield End is a 18th century building with a brick facade, which may have been added to an earlier structure. It features a steeply pitched, old tiled roof and a brick string course at the first floor sill height. The building is two storeys tall and has two windows; the first-floor windows are sashes with flush frames and glazing bars. The ground floor has an early 19th century shop window, which is an angled bay with glazing bars, and there is a cornice above it that extends over a six-panelled shop door. The north side wall has been rebuilt, now featuring a brick ground floor and tile hanging above, due to demolition work.
This property is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 11 (odd) and 15 to 25 (odd), along with Denmark House, Elm House, Ruperts Elm, Ruperts Guard, White House, the Obelisk, and No 30. It also forms a group with Nos 93 and 95 and Nos 70 to 102 (even), as well as the building at the rear of No 70 Bell Street and with Tarrys Cottage, Bell Cottage, and the flat on Ruperts Lane.
