Description
This barn, located approximately 50 metres east of Dove House, is likely from the 16th century but was reconstructed in the early 19th century. It is built from limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a plain-tile roof. The barn has a nine-bay plan and includes opposed full-height central doors. The south side walls are supported by deep buttresses with sloping weatherings, which flank slit windows. The south end wall is simple and has a high-level slit window. The north end of the barn has likely been rebuilt and showcases a hipped early 19th-century king-post roof that has an unusually wide span. It is possible that the barn was originally designed with aisles and end gables.
