Description
Old Croft is a house located in Kingstone Blount, dating from the early 17th century, with a mid-17th century addition on the right that has an 18th-century encasement. The building features large timber framing with herringbone brick infill in the center of the ground floor, red brick on the left and right sides, and tile hanging on the first floor, likely supported by timber framing. It has an old plain-tile half-hipped roof and a central brick ridge stack with diagonally set flues. The house follows a 2-unit lobby-entry plan and is two stories high with a three-window range. There is a 20th-century plank door at the center, flanked by three-light wood casements on the left and right, and a two-light wood casement to the right. The first floor has two-light wood casements. The addition to the right is made of red brick and also features an old plain-tile half-hipped roof, with a catslide on the right side. This section has an irregular arrangement of casement windows and two hipped dormers on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
