Description
Burr House at Shiplake College is a house that has been converted into public school dormitories. It was built in the early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of flint with brick quoining and window surrounds, topped with a plain tile roof and featuring brick stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window range. All openings have bordered sashes, and there is a central blind panel on both the ground and first floors. A brick flat band runs between the ground and first floors. The attic features two gabled dormers with square bordered sashes. The interior has not been inspected. There is a subsidiary wing to the right, which is possibly from the 19th century, with a 20th-century bay to the right and a 20th-century door to the left. The first floor has a central rendered panel flanked by 15-pane sashes.
