Description
Shiplake House is an early 19th-century house constructed of stucco, likely over a brick structure, with a hipped slate roof and stuccoed end stacks. The building has a double depth plan and is three stories tall, featuring a five-window range. To the right of the center, there is a single-storey porch, with a double door at the center flanked by 8-pane sash windows. The ground and first floors have 12-pane sashes, while the second floor has 6-pane sashes. A flat band runs between the ground and first floors, and there is a moulded cornice between the first and second floors, along with bracketed eaves. The interior has not been inspected. There is a two-storey brick wing, possibly from the mid-19th century, to the right of the main house, and a wrought iron verandah on the ground floor of the left-hand return and rear elevation.
