Description

River Terrace comprises Nos. 1 to 7, a row of early 19th-century houses. The facades are stuccoed, with two-storey houses at each end and a central three-storey section with an attic. The central section is topped by a cornice and parapet, above which are five round-headed dormers. The roof is slate-covered, and the end houses have an additional stuccoed attic storey above the main cornice, finished with a further cornice and blocking course. Each house has two sash windows, with those on the ground floor featuring cornices supported by consoles. The houses have projecting porches with Doric columns, with the end houses featuring paired porches. The terrace occupies a prominent position overlooking the river. Nos. 1 to 7 River Terrace, along with their garden walls and gate piers, form a group of group value.
