Description

Elmtree Farmhouse, now a house, was probably built in the mid-17th century, with a 20th-century cross-wing addition to the left and further 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of painted brick with an old plain-tile half-hipped roof. A 20th-century brick stack is located to the right of the centre. The farmhouse follows a three-unit lobby-entry plan and has a two-storey, three-window front. A 20th-century ribbed door is positioned to the right of the centre, alongside a 20th-century glazed door to the left. Three-light casement windows with segmental brick heads are present in the centre and to the right. Two gabled half-dormers, each containing a two-light casement, are visible. A 20th-century addition of red brick with a plain-tile half-hipped roof extends to the left. At the rear, timber framing is visible with rendered infill. Inside, open fireplaces are found on the ground floor towards the right of the centre. The roof structure is a queen-post roof with windbraces.
