Description

Powerhouse Music is a shop and outbuilding, now comprising two shops, possibly dating from the 14th, 16th, or 17th century, with an 18th-century addition to the front. The ground floor is roughcast, likely over brick, while the first floor has a rendered finish, probably on timber framing. The building features an old plain-tile gabled roof with the gable end facing the main front, and a 20th-century plain-tile hipped lean-to roof over the 18th-century front addition. It has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window front range.

The 19th-century shop front on the ground floor includes a central glazed door flanked by bay windows, with a flat hood between the ground and first floors. The first floor has two 12-pane unhorned sash windows with painted wood architrave surrounds. A 4-pane casement window is located in the gabled end of the attic. The rear of the building is constructed of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond and features an old plain-tile roof with a gable end. It has two storeys and an attic, with a single-window front. There is a 20th-century sash door to the left and a 20th-century shop window to the right. The first floor has a 3-light wood casement window with a segmental brick head, and the attic features a 2-light wood casement window with a segmental brick head. Inside, there are two cruck trusses.
