Description
The Town Arms Public House is a public house located on the north side of High Street in Wallingford. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features lined render, likely on brick at the ground floor, and roughcast, probably on timber framing at the first floor. It has a mid-20th century plain-tile roof and various brick stacks. The structure is two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range.
On the ground floor, there is a four-panel part-glazed door to the left and a two-panel part-glazed door at an angled corner to the right. The central window is a three-light wood mullioned window with long lights and glazing bars. To the left and right, there are four-pane segmental headed unhorned sashes. A three-light window is located at the eaves in the centre. The left and right sides also have 20th-century windows with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane segmental headed unhorned sashes, and the left gable end features a four-pane unhorned sash, while the right gable end has two 12-pane segmental headed unhorned sashes. Inside, timber framing is visible.
