Description

This building in Goring-on-Thames is a house, now used as a shop, dating from the 17th century. It was largely refronted around 1806, with further alterations in the 19th century. The exterior is painted brick with a plain tile roof and a brick ridge stack in the centre. The building has a lobby-entry plan and is single storey with an attic, consisting of a two-window range. A central plank door is present, with a four-light casement window to the left and a 19th-century shop window to the right. There are two gabled dormers in the roof. A large timber frame is visible on the left return. The interior has not been inspected. A likely 19th-century extension exists to the right, which is a two-storey, one-window range with a glazed door to the left, a 19th-century shop window to the right, and a two-light casement window on the first floor. This extension has a half-hipped roof.
