Description
Nos 1 and 3 Hart Street are early 19th century buildings that have been altered. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings and feature flat eaves supported by paired brackets. The hipped slate roof has a curved corner with one bay. The Bell Street facade has three bays, while the Hart Street side has two bays. Originally three storeys high, the buildings have been reduced to two storeys, with the top floor windows now bricked in. The remaining windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern shop front. These buildings occupy a very important focal position at the intersection of Henley's four main streets and are part of a significant group with Nos 2 to 6 (even), No 1 Duke Street, and No 1 Market Place.
