Description
No. 5 Hart Street is an early 19th-century building constructed from stock brick with red brick dressings. It features a hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves. The building stands three storeys tall and has three windows, with the centre window being blank. All the windows are sash types with glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern shop front.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 5 to 39 (odd), the Drinking Fountain, the Parish Church of St Mary, and the raised pavement at the east end of Hart Street, as well as Nos. 2 to 8 (even) and Nos. 14 to 36 (even), including Adam House and Nos. 40, 44 (including gates and piers), 48, No. 50, The Old School House, and the Rectory Garden Wall opposite.
