Description
No 6 Bell Street is a building from the 18th century and later, featuring a stucco facade with wide, corbelled eaves cornice and a tiled roof. It has two storeys and a large, later addition of twin gabled dormers. The first-floor windows have engraved lintels with triple keystones, and the sashes are fitted with flush frames and glazing bars. The ground floor boasts a well-preserved 19th-century shop front, complete with a cornice, end stops, and an architrave featuring egg and dart moulding. The double shop windows are framed in cast iron with enriched spandrels. There is a recessed central door beneath a panelled roof, along with a panelled side door that has a rectangular fanlight. This building is part of an important group at the main crossroads in Henley, alongside No 1 Duke Street, No 1 Market Place, and Nos 1 and 3 Hart Street.
