Description
Ford Cottage is a small house dating from the early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. It is constructed from colourwashed coursed clunch rubble and brick, topped with an old plain-tile roof and brick stacks. The building has a two-unit plan that extends to form an L-shape, featuring one storey plus attics and two storeys. The low front range made of rubble has a projection on the left that contains a combined entrance and a large window, while to the right there is a three-light casement. A two-light half dormer is located to the left. A projecting lateral stack divides the front of the house. The taller rear wing, built in the 19th century, is made of brick and features sash windows and some segmental arches. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
