Description

Barn Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the south side of Marborough The Green. It features timber framing with rendered infill and some coursed clunch rubble, topped with a thatch roof and brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is one storey plus attics. The front of the house displays exposed framing in the left bay, with a central door and three 2-light windows at ground level, along with half dormers in the centre and right, all fitted with horizontal sliding sashes. There are stacks located at the right gable and to the left of the centre. The left gable wall, which faces the green, is constructed of rubble with a rendered timber-framed gable and features irregular casements with brick dressings. The interior has not been inspected.
