Description
Nos 29 to 47 on Reading Road, known as Gladstone Terrace, is an early 19th-century red brick terrace of cottages. The ground floor is finished in stucco, with a moulded string course above. The facade of No 29 is roughcast. The terrace features a slate roof with wide eaves and consists of two storeys with segmental arched dormers, each containing one window with casements that have cambered head linings. All windows, except those of Nos 29 and 45, have glazing bars. The paired doorways are topped with flat bracketed hoods, and the doorways of Nos 37 and 39 include a rear passageway entrance between them. All doors are six-panelled, except for Nos 29, 45, and 47. The name of the terrace is painted in large letters on the facade. Nos 29 to 47 form a group with The Manse and the Manse garden wall along Reading Road.
