Description
The Congregational Church, built in 1907 and designed by architect Hampden Pratt, is a Grade II listed building located on Reading Road. This church showcases Gothic architectural style, constructed from red brick with stone dressings. It features windows with tracery and an advanced porch with double doors. A notable tower is situated at the southeastern corner, topped with an octagonal lantern and spire, making it a local landmark. Inside, the church is adorned with Art Nouveau stained glass. The church manse and its garden wall are part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 47 (odd) opposite, as well as the Church, Church Hall, and the gates and railings of the churchyard.
