Description

Lavender Cottage is a house, likely dating from the late 17th century, with 20th-century additions and alterations. The construction incorporates a flint base and flint with brick dressings on the left side, red brick on the right, and a plain tile roof. Brick end stacks are also present. The house is a single storey with an attic, and features a two-window front. A central 20th-century porch provides access via a plank door. The ground floor has a three-light wood casement window with segmental brick heads on both the left and right sides. A brick band demarcates the ground floor from the attic. Two gabled dormers are visible. An outshut extends to the rear of the property. Internally, the ground floor features chamfered spine beams and a timber frame separating the main rooms from the outshut. A 20th-century addition exists on the left side, built in a matching style, and another 20th-century addition is present on the right side.
