Description

Great Holcombe Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, possibly with some earlier elements. It is constructed of colourwashed rubble and brick, featuring some timber framing, and has an old plain-tile roof with brick ridge stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus attics. The double-gabled front has two windows made of brick and is adorned with a stepped brick plinth and storey band. To the right of center, there is a 6-panel door sheltered by a tiled canopy, and the ground and first floors have 3-light casements. Both gables are timber framed, with many timbers having been renewed. The sides and rear of the farmhouse are made of rubble and include large dressed quoins at the ground floor, with most windows featuring brick dressings. The roof is hipped at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
