Description
No 24 on St Michael's Street is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It features a three-storey front made of weathered ashlar, with cellars and two stone pedimented Dutch gables. The back and sides of the building are constructed from rubble. On the ground floor, there is a large 18th-century stone doorway that has projecting imposts, a split pediment, a large keystoned semi-circular head, and a fanlight. This doorway is flanked by two sash windows set in plain stone reveals with cills. The first and second floors each have three sash windows in plain stone frames, all of which include glazing bars. The rear elevation of the building is similar in design. Nos 18 to 24 on St Michael's Street form a group.
