Description
The North Gate Hall, located at No 18 on St Michael's Street, was built between 1870 and 1871 by J C Curtis. This two-storey building features yellow brick with a stone plinth and stone dressings, and it includes a cellar. The façade has three windows on the ground floor, which are sashes with glazing bars and rusticated architraves, while the first floor has round-headed windows. The building is accented with quoins and has a pediment at the eaves level, along with a dentil cornice. There are lower bays on either side, each with quoins, and a door on each side that has a rusticated architrave, with a blank window above. Nos 18 to 24 (even) form a group.
