Description
The Governor's Office and Former Laundry, now used for administration with the laundry located at the rear, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone with ashlar dressings and a plinth, topped by a slated hipped roof. The building has a rectangular plan, with a rectangular block extending at right angles to the rear. It stands two storeys high and features four windows. The entrance is asymmetrically placed and has a round arch, along with a fanlight and a part-glazed door. The first-floor windows are flat-arched sashes with a continuous sill band. At the rear, there is a single-storey block with a pitched roof and small rectangular windows, which is likely part of the earlier laundry.
