Description
No 48 on High Street is a house and shop, likely built in the early 18th century. It has a four-storey stuccoed front with cellars and a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. The building features a moulded cornice at the second floor and a decorative eaves cornice with modillions and egg and tongue detailing. In the center, there is an old lead rainwater head and pipe. The upper floors were converted for use by St Edmund Hall in 1930, and the shop was added in the mid-19th century. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the north side of High Street.
