Description
No. 6 Ship Street is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled in the 18th century. It is three stories tall, constructed with timber framing and covered in stucco, and features cellars. The building has an overhanging design on the first and second floors, supported by three wooden scrolled brackets. The ground floor is roughcast, while the upper floors display rusticated quoins and a Welsh slate roof. On the first floor, there are two sash windows from the 18th to 19th centuries, set in moulded wood frames with stuccoed keystones. The second floor also has two sash windows from the 18th to 19th centuries. Inside, the rubble north wall of the cellar is part of the city wall. No. 6 Ship Street is part of a group that includes the Church of St Michael on Cornmarket Street and Nos 1 to 6 and 8 to 16 Ship Street.
