Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century houses and a shop, likely built around the beginning of the 1800s. The building is constructed of red brick with a stucco finish, and features quoins. It stands three stories high, with four windows on each floor. The ground-floor windows have semi-circular, molded heads and tall casements, with a continuous string course running between them. The second-floor windows are sash windows in molded frames, with balconies on the outer windows. A projecting porch sits over the two front doorways, supported by three square columns and featuring a plain entablature above, topped with an iron balcony. Numbers 31 to 46, and numbers 49 to 56, on St Giles Street are designated as a group.
