Description
This is a house, likely dating to around 1700. It is located on St Giles Street. The front facade is ashlar and was refaced in 1956, retaining its original three-story form with four gables. The ground floor has three sash windows set within moulded stone frames, each topped with a moulded cornice. The front doorway, facing North, features engaged Doric columns, an entablature, a split pediment, and a rectangular fanlight. The sash windows on the first and second floors also have moulded cornices. The two outer windows on the second floor have triangular pediments, while the two inner windows have segmental pediments. The rear North West wing is likely contemporary and partially timber-framed. The interior contains a contemporary staircase with close strings, square newels, and turned balusters. Some early 19th-century door frames are also present. The building forms a group with numbers 31 to 46 and 49 to 56 on St Giles Street.
