Description

PEMBROKE STREET 1. 1485 (North Side) No 45 SP 5106 SW 8/565 12.1.54. II 2. House. Probably C17-C18 in origin. 2-storeyed timber framed structure, the ground floor being stuccoed and the 1st floor roughcast with a large roughcast gable above it, in which is a C19 2-light casement window. Welsh slate roof. In the ground floor is a double sash window in a Cl9 pilastered frame and a plain doorway. The lst floor has a C18-C19 sash window in a plain wood frame and small casement window. The east elevation has 3 ancient rough cast gables. History. Formed part of an inn on the site of 97 St Aldates which was burnt down in 1870, leaving the back part untouched. Interior altered 1959.
