Description
The brick retaining wall at St Catherine's College was built between 1961 and 1966 and designed by Arne Jacobsen. It runs north to south, located 2 metres west of the Music Room and between this room and the bridge. The wall is constructed from narrow buff sandlime bricks, laid in a raking stretcher bond, and varies in height from approximately 1 to 2 metres. It features attached seats and a semicircular 'bastion' at the southern end. This wall is an integral part of the planned layout of St Catherine's College.
