Description

The Music Room at St Catherine's College, built between 1961 and 1966, is a notable example of modern architecture designed by Arne Jacobsen. Constructed from narrow buff sandlime brick arranged in a raking stretcher bond, the building features a flat roof and a centralized plan consisting of two hexagons, one positioned inside the other. The walls are angled and blind, with vertical breaks on each side that include vertical glazing between the inner and outer skins. This music room is an integral part of the planned layout of St Catherine's College.
