Description
No. 16 Ship Street is a house that dates back to the 18th century but has a core from the 17th century. The building features a roughcast front and has an overhang at the first floor. The moulded cornice at the first floor is continuous with the adjacent properties, Nos. 14 and 15, as well as the eaves cornice and parapet. On the first floor, there is a double sash window and two single sash windows, all set in moulded frames. The second floor includes two three-light and one two-light casement windows. In the cellar, there is some rubble walling that aligns with the City Wall. The property underwent major internal alterations in 1971. No. 16 is part of a group that includes the Church of St Michael, Cornmarket Street, and Nos. 1 to 6 and 8 to 16 Ship Street.
