Description

The Turf Tavern is a building located on St Helen's Passage, with an original date that is indeterminate but was remodeled in the 18th century. It is two stories tall, featuring cement-faced timber framing and a Welsh slate roof. The structure has a brick shaft on a central moulded stone base. On the ground floor to the north, there is a boxed-out bar front with 18th-century windows. The other windows are 18th-century style sashes with glazing bars, while there is one 17th-century casement window with two lights and shaped heads. Inside, the cellar has a barrel roof.
