Description
Exeter College's West Range in the Main Quadrangle dates back to 1485. The section north of the Turl Street gate was constructed in 1671 and refaced in Bath stone in 1833-1834. The adjacent range to the north was rebuilt in 1682 and also refaced in Bath stone during the same period. The Turl Street gatehouse and the southwest angle leading to the Hall were rebuilt between 1701 and 1703, partly funded by Narcissus Marsh, Archbishop of Dublin and Armagh. This section was refaced along with the rest of the West range in Bath stone by architect H. J. Underwood in 1833-1834.
