Description

This is an early to mid-19th century double-fronted red brick cottage located on James Street. It is two storeys high with three windows, each featuring sash windows with glazing bars. The central entrance has a rectangular light above the door. The roof is slate covered. A plaque commemorates that William Morris, Lord Nuffield, resided here from 1893 to 1904, and that the property served as his bicycle workshop and showroom, as well as the location where he constructed his first bicycle in 1893.
