Description
The Church of St John the Evangelist, built in 1896 by G F Bodley, is one of his finest churches and a principal work, featuring Morris Style decoration. The church has a four-bay nave with very plain arcades, north and south aisles, and a clerestory. It includes a castellated west tower, a three-bay choir screen, and a decorated timber roof. The entire structure is made of ashlar with a tiled roof.
