Description
Lock-keeper's cottage at King's Sutton Lock is a late 18th-century building. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with ashlar dressings and features brick in Flemish bond. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has brick gable stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan with a rear outshut and stands two storeys tall. The symmetrical front has three windows, with a central doorway located below a blind window. The outer bays contain 2-light small-pane casements, and all openings have projecting keyblocks, with the lower blocks connected to an ashlar storeyband. The left side and rear of the cottage are brick. The interior has not been inspected. This cottage forms a close group with King's Sutton Lock, the nearby bridge, and another canal building.
