Description
The bridge at King's Sutton Lock on the Oxford Canal is a late 18th-century canal bridge that was repaired in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick with limestone details. The bridge features a depressed arch with a half-brick hood course that springs from projecting limestone impost blocks. The plain rebuilt parapets rise over the arch and curve outward to square brick piers. On the south face, there is a cast-iron plate inscribed with "179," while the north face has a limestone keyblock inscribed with "149." This bridge is part of a close group that includes King's Sutton Lock, the lock-keeper's cottage, and a canal building.
