Description

This chest tomb, located approximately 17 meters south-southeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the mid-18th century and is made of marlstone. It features a rectangular shape with a moulded base and cover, square recessed corner balusters, and fielded inscription panels on all sides. One of the inscriptions commemorates Jane Paine, who is noted as a daughter of those commemorated by earlier inscriptions, which are now only partially legible and include a different surname.
