Description
This is a park wall and gateway associated with Bicester House, likely built partly in the 18th century and raised in the 18th or 19th century, with the gateway added in the 20th century. The wall is constructed of limestone rubble and features a flat marlstone coping. It stands approximately 2.5 metres high and stretches from an angled section at the junction with Queens Avenue, extending about 130 metres to the east before curving and running for an additional 40 metres beside the track to the left of The Old Manor House. The gateway, located opposite Coker Close, is flanked by lower curving sections of wall that were rebuilt in the 20th century and features wrought-iron gates. This structure is included for its group value.
