Description

The southern gatepier, dating from the early to mid-18th century, is located approximately 25 meters south of The Manor House on Mill Lane in Adderbury. This gatepier is constructed from marlstone ashlar and features a square shape with banded rustication and a projecting hanging strip. It is topped with a moulded cornice and a rusticated ball finial. This gatepier is part of a pair that marks the entrance to The Manor House and may have been relocated from Adderbury House, where a similar pair can be found in the stable block. The gatepier is included for its group value.
