Description
Shipton Slade Farm barn, located approximately 50 meters southwest of the farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with concrete tiles on the right side. The barn has a five-bay plan with a central threshing floor. A full-height central gabled porch includes an owl hole at the apex and a timber lintel above the double entry. There are splayed ventilation slits, and late 19th-century outshuts flank the porch. Inside, the central threshing floor is paved with stone flags, and the roof consists of a five-bay collar-truss design with butt purlins.
