Description

The headstone to Robert Fuller, who died in 1678, is located about 30 metres southeast of the Church of St Mary on Goudhurst Church Road. This Grade II listed stone stands approximately 2 feet high and features an inscription along with motifs on a single panel, which is sunk and has stepped moulding. The headstone is adorned with a scrolled top that includes a relief of a skull and crossed bones. Locally, it is known as the Pirate's Stone, although this name is incorrect.
